HEARING AID STYLES
We have many different styles of hearing aids, including those worn completely in the canal (ITE) and behind the ear (BTE). By Virginia law, all new hearing aids are warranted, and have a 30-day adjustment period. We provide expert fitting to ensure your maximum comfort.
ASSISTED LISTENING DEVICES
We stock Assisted Listening Devices (ALDs). ALDs are amplification instruments that are designed to be helpful in specific, but not all listening situations. For instance, there are ALDs that specifically amplify the TV, the telephone, that amplify in theaters, places of worship and that amplify public speakers. Hearing Aids, which also amplify sound are instruments that can be used in all listening situations. Examples of the ALD's we can order include cordless, amplified telephones, amplified alarm clocks and wireless listening systems for television. We are committed to helping the hearing-impaired achieve better communication.
Tinnitus (Ringing in the Ear)
The Tinnitus Practitioners Association is a nationwide professional health organization dedicated to eliminating tinnitus and hyperacusis as a health problem by preventing tinnitus and hyperacusis, improving lives, and diminishing suffering from tinnitus and hyperacusis, through research, education, advocacy, and practice.
NO MATTER WHO YOU ARE, WE CAN HELP!!!
Tinnitus - Perception of sound in the absence of external sound
Hyperacusis - Abnormal sound sensitivity
HELP IS AROUND THE CORNER
Tinnitus is not a disease; it is a common auditory condition. It can be a constant ringing, hissing, roaring, whistling, or any other distressing sound in your ears or head. Tinnitus is real, not imaginary. If you can relate to this, you are not alone. About 50 million Americans, or 15% of the population, experience tinnitus to the extent that it significantly affects their lives interfering with sleep, work or social interaction and 2 million Americans are disabled from it. Patients often report feeling anxious with no escape from this "unending noise."
Currently there is no "cure" for tinnitus; however, research indicates that individualized treatment administered by a tinnitus specialist can help you to reduce the perception of tinnitus and to manage the negative effects that it often has on your life.
WHY SEE A TPA AUDIOLOGIST FOR TINNITUS CARE
The Tinnitus Practitioners Association (TPA) awards the Certificate of Competency in Tinnitus and Hyperacusis Care to audiologists who have demonstrated exceptional knowledge and skill in the evaluation and management of the tinnitus and hyperacusis patient.
You can be assured that these professionals, with master or doctorate levels degrees in Audiology, have the qualifications, expertise and experience to exclude medical hearing disorders, identify factors which contribute to the tinnitus, and, implement an individually developed treatment plan.

Many people have questions about why digital hearing aids sound more natural. Digital hearing aid technology can accomplish amazing things with the sounds you hear because they are designed to copy the system that has worked well for thousands of years - your inner ear. Like auditory hair cells in your natural ear, digital hearing aids can also divide frequency sounds which improves your hearing in a noisy listening environment. An advanced microchip seperates speech and noise signals applying gain only to speech-like sounds providing a more comfortable communication experience. They are programmed to adapt automatically to changing sound levels allowing a better speech intelligibility even in noisy situations. This special feature helps you hear quiet sounds and protects against uncomfortable, loud noise. The result is a superior sound that automatically amplifes soft sounds and maintains louder sounds at more comfortable levels, as well as improves better hearing in noise.
We also make an impression of your ear for fitting custom ear molds and hearing aids. Custom ear molds are designed to protect hearing for all commerical, industrial and recreational hazards, such as power tools, hunting, etc.
We service and repair all major brands including Belton and Miracle Ear. We offer batteries and supplies for hearing aids. We strive for quick-turnaround time and in some cases, same-day services and loaner hearing aids.
